Powers: Formerly Stealing The Powers Of Other Witches
Kathryn Hahn debuted as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, originally depicted as Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s nosy neighbor who eventually revealed herself to be a powerful witch. She returns in Agatha All Along in the wake of WandaVision‘s ending, still suffering the effects of Wanda’s magic. After snapping out of Wanda’s influence with the help of Billy and Rio Vidal, Agatha Harkness gathers another coven to travel the Witches’ Road together, set on stealing their powers to feed her own until she is once again at full power.

1 MCU Quote Best Defines The Tragedy Of Scarlet Witch’s MCU Story After Years Of Marvel Abuse
The Scarlet Witch has not had an easy run of it since her debut in the MCU back in Phase 2, and 2024’s Agatha All Along made this even worse.
Her backstory is hinted at throughout the series, with the reveal that Aubrey Plaza’s Death (Rio Vidal) eventually took Agatha’s child away from her. Agatha spends the rest of her life tricking other witches into stealing their powers, and by the end of Agatha All Along, she actually sacrifices herself to stop Death from taking Billy, eventually returning to him as a ghost to help him find Tommy.
Joe Locke As Billy / Wiccan
Powers: Chaos Magic
Joe Locke’s character at the beginning of the series was simply known as Teen, while his true identity was a closely guarded secret, with magic preventing him from revealing to anyone who he really was. Eventually, it is revealed that Teen is the reincarnation of Billy Maximoff (also known as Wiccan), one of Scarlet Witch’s children, who entered the body of William Kaplan as he was dying.
By the end of the series, both Billy and Agatha realize that he actually created the Witches’ Road, harnessing the same type of chaos magic his mother could use. His motivation for wanting to travel the Witch’s Road was to figure out how to find Tommy, his twin brother. He eventually helps Tommy find a body to enter, prompting him and ghost Agatha to go searching for him as the credits begin to roll.
Aubrey Plaza As Rio Vidal / Death
Powers: Green Magic
Throughout most of Agatha All Along, Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal is a mystery. She is a Green Witch that has some sort of romantic history with Agatha, but it isn’t revealed until towards the end of the series that she is actually Death, an important character in Marvel Comics, changing the MCU forever.

The MCU’s Death Reveal Secretly Set Up The Perfect Way To Bring Scarlet Witch Back
Now that Death is officially a character in the MCU, there is a perfect way for the universe to bring back Scarlet Witch from the dead.
Her history with Agatha is shown near the end of Agatha All Along, and she eventually has to take Agatha’s child, something that simply must be done. She is after Billy for upsetting the balance of nature, basically defying death and reincarnating into a new body. She gives Agatha a choice between her taking Billy or taking Agatha, and Agatha eventually sacrifices herself.
Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu
Powers: Divination
Lilia Calderu is a 450-year-old witch with the power of divination (foresight), recruited by Agatha as part of her new coven. The character is adapted from Marvel Comics’ Lilia Calderu, who is the keeper of the Book of Cagliostro. She plays a significant role in Agatha All Along, placing a protective spell on Billy prior to the events of the series, due to her power of divination.
She is constantly getting glimpses of the future and finally makes sense of them all during the coven’s travel on the Witches’ Road, where she eventually sacrifices herself during her trial to ensure that the Salem Seven are killed, and the remaining members can continue down their path on the Witches’ Road.
Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale
Powers: Potions
Sasheer Zamata plays Jennifer Kale in Agatha All Along, a notable witch in Marvel Comics with connections to Man-Thing, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Strange. Jennifer Kale is the witch who is most skilled with potions in the coven, with her talents becoming particularly useful during a trial on the Witches’ Road. While most of the coven are killed throughout the series, she stays alive.
It is revealed later in the series that Jennifer Kale’s powers were bound by Agatha in the 1920s, and she has essentially been “powerless” since then. By the end of their journey on the Witches’ Road, Agatha unbounds Jennifer Kale’s powers, allowing her to be her full self again, where she promptly leaves the road, completing her journey.
Ali Ahn as Alice Wu-Gulliver
Powers: Protection Magic
Ali Ahn plays Alice Wu-Gulliver, another of Agatha’s new coven and daughter of the famous witch Lorna Wu (based on Marvel Comics character August Wu). She wields protection magic and is a former police officer who struggles to keep jobs. Alice has turned her back on witchcraft after the death of her mother on the Witches’ Road.

Using a song that is actually a spell, the coven is able to free Alice from a curse. In another later trial on the Witches’ Road, Alice attempts to save Agatha, who in turn drains Alice of her powers, eventually killing her completely.
Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon Davis AKA Mrs Hart
Powers: None
Debra Jo Rupp debuted in the MCU’s WandaVision as Sharon Davis, a resident of Westview who becomes trapped in the Scarlet Witch’s Hex. Rupp was introduced as Mrs. Hart, the wife of Vision’s boss in WandaVision’s 1950s-themed premiere episode, and she eventually confronted Wanda Maximoff as herself in the season finale.
Sharon returns in Agatha All Along as an unknowing member of Agatha’s rag-tag coven, replacing Rio, who is supposed to be one of the witches Agatha takes along on the Witches Road. She is the “Green Witch” of the coven but is unfortunately the first to die in the series, during the first trial on the Witches’ Road.

Agatha All Along Season 2 Possible Story (And Who Could Return)
As of now, it is unclear if Agatha All Along season 2 will actually happen, as there has been no actual confirmation of it being in development. Still, if the show does return for a second season, the finale left some threads dangling that would be perfect to explore going forward, including the possible return of Wanda Maximoff at some point.
The most notable storyline that Agatha All Along can explore is Billy and Agatha (as a ghost) setting out to find Tommy, Billy’s brother, who he was able to bring back to the world of the living by using his powers as Wiccan. Not only would finding Tommy be crucial for a Young Avengers project in the future, but it will finish up Billy’s narrative arc at this point, as his main motivation for going down the Witch’s Road was to find his brother.
The second storyline that the second season of Agatha All Along could explore is Agatha herself eventually embracing her death and choosing to leave being a ghost behind to see her son once again. She admitted to Billy at the end of the show that she couldn’t face him and her finally being able to do that by the end of Agatha All Along season 2 could be a poignant end for her character.
